I provide specialist 3D animation and visualisation services for technical, industrial and product-led projects.
My work is designed to help companies explain products, systems and processes clearly through animation, rendered imagery and technical visuals. This can support sales and marketing, product communication, training, installation guidance and internal presentations.
I regularly work on projects where clarity, accuracy and visual impact are equally important, particularly when the subject matter is difficult to communicate through photography, live action or text alone.
I create 3D technical animation for products, processes and systems that need to be explained clearly and accurately.
This can include product demonstrations, process animation, assembly sequences, internal mechanism visualisation and motion graphics designed to communicate complex information in a more accessible and engaging way.
Static 3D imagery can be used to communicate technical information with clarity and precision.
This includes exploded views, cutaways, product illustrations, technical stills and other visual assets that help explain how something is constructed, how it functions or how key components relate to one another.
High-quality rendered imagery can be produced for a wide range of technical and commercial applications.
Photorealistic rendering is particularly useful when products are still in development, when photography is not yet possible, or when a cleaner and more controlled presentation is needed for marketing, pitch material, trade shows or technical documentation.
3D product visualisation is an effective way to present products, prototypes and concepts before manufacture.
It can help businesses review design ideas, communicate value more clearly, support decision-making and reduce the need for costly physical prototyping. It is also useful for launch visuals, presentations, web content and printed sales material.
Animation is a highly effective way to communicate technical information in a clear and engaging format.
It is particularly useful for installation guidance, maintenance procedures, servicing demonstrations and product training, where visual communication helps audiences understand key information, functionality and benefits quickly. This can also be valuable when communicating across different languages, as the visual content supports immediate understanding.
Projects are developed through a clear review process to ensure the work is accurate, effective and aligned with your requirements before final delivery.
During production, I can provide rendered stills at key stages for approval, followed by low-resolution animation previews so that movement, timing and messaging can be reviewed before final rendering begins. This helps refine the work efficiently and avoid unnecessary revisions at the final stage.
You work directly with me throughout the project, which keeps communication clear, efficient and focused from initial brief through to final delivery. Project costs are based on the time required to build, animate and render the work, depending on the complexity of the product, process or subject matter.
These services are particularly well suited to:
Working directly with the animator means the process is straightforward from the start. Feedback can be discussed quickly, decisions are easier to make, and the final work stays closely aligned with the original brief.
My approach combines technical understanding with clear visual communication, helping clients present complex information in a way that is professional, accessible and visually engaging.
If you have a project in mind, feel free to get in touch for a quote.
You can send over CAD files, drawings, product images, reference material or a simple brief, and I can advise on the best approach for the project.
I can work directly from CAD and engineering files to create accurate product animation, photorealistic rendering and technical visuals.
Supported formats include SolidWorks, STEP, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA and Creo, among others. Working from existing CAD data helps retain accuracy, reduce unnecessary rebuilding and create a more efficient production process from the outset.
This workflow is particularly useful for product visualisation, technical animation, exploded views and other content where precision, proportion and detail are important.

Jon Baugh Animation is an independent 3D animation practice specialising in technical, industrial, product, scientific and medical visualisation.
The studio creates clear, high-quality 3D animation, rendered imagery and technical visuals for companies that need to communicate complex products, systems and processes effectively. This includes work for sales and marketing, product communication, training, presentations and instructional content, particularly where the subject matter is difficult to explain through photography, live action or text alone.
Projects are developed through a clear and collaborative process, with direct communication from brief through to final delivery. Work can be developed from CAD files, technical drawings, reference images or written information, with stills and preview animations supplied at key stages before final rendering begins.

Based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, the studio works with clients across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Jon Baugh is a senior 3D animator with over two decades of experience in animation, visualisation and digital image-making.
He specialises in turning complex technical information into clear visual communication, with experience across industrial, product, scientific and medical projects. His background combines freelance practice with work in higher education, bringing both a strong creative foundation and a clear, structured approach to project development.
Jon holds a BA (Hons) in 3D Design and an MA in Digital Arts. Earlier in his career he worked on projects for scientific and medical applications, creating visuals for complex subjects ranging from biological structures to specialist technical processes. This experience continues to inform his approach to detailed product animation, scientific visualisation and CAD-based industrial work.
